WORSHIP TEAM
Sermons

Just as the early church met in the temple, we gather to worship as the church on Sunday mornings.  When we gather, we want to enable people to worship God in a way that speaks to both God and them.  With this in mind, we always strive to facilitate a worship service that is:

  • God-centered (Psalm 9:1-2; 95:1-2)

When we come together, we are gathering to hear from God and to respond to His revelation.  He alone is to be the focus of our worship.

  • Sincere (John 4:23-24)

God wants us to worship Him from the overflow of our hearts.  We strive to create an atmosphere where people are free to express their love and adoration of God with authenticity.

  • Culturally-relevant (I Corinthians 9:19-22)

Our God is an awesome God.  He has moved throughout the scope of human history to manifest Himself to a world that He loves.  One of the ways He has chosen to do that is through the inspiring music that flows from the pens of godly writers.  We intentionally use music that is flowing from the hearts of this chosen generation, while continuing to honoring how God has moved in the past.

  • High quality (Colossians 3:23-24)

Everything we do is for the honor and glory of God.  Our worship is for Him. Therefore, we approach our service with an audience of One in mind, seeking excellence in all aspects, because He is worthy of excellence.

  • Participatory (Psalm 100)

Worship was never intended to be a spectator sport.  Every one of us is called to personally worship, praise and give thanks to our God.

  • Welcoming (I Corinthians 14:23-24; Philippians 2:4)
While our worship is for God alone, as a church we are called to seek and save that which is lost.  At White Plains we try not to put up unnecessary obstacles between people and God.
